FEATURED PLATFORMS
Oil and Natural Gas

ITT takes pride in providing
robust components for harsh
environments. Our
extensive engineering
capability has and continues
to provide successful
components used in the most
demanding environments that
lie beneath the earths
surface. Products
provided to the industry
include sensors, stacked
actuators, and ceramic
shapes that are used in many
areas and applications like
down-hole wells, seismic
components, acoustic
monitoring, and test
transducers.

Medical Applications
ITT believes that
"Engineered for Life" also
means for the life of the
patient. When the
needs are critical and
repeatability of an assembly
is required, ITT should be
part of your component
decision. Our
engineering and development
can provide improvement for
new products. Products
provided to the industry
include: bending elements
and stacked actuators for
applications like
communicators, enunciators,
ultrasonic hand tools, and
ultrasonic therapy.
Safety and Protection
"Engineered for Life" means
that life is taken
seriously. ITT
provides products that
insure the well being of
Emergency Personnel,
Military Service Personnel,
and Harbor surveillance
activity. Our full
range of products and
engineering expertise are
applied because nothing
short of success is
expected. Areas of use
include emergency response
components, diver detection,
and sonar object detection.

FEATURED PRODUCTS

Bending elements are small
electromechanical actuators
or sensors. Actuators
produce controlled movement
when regulated power is
supplied to the bending
element. The
reciprocal of the actuator
is a Sensor. When
vibration or movement is
present at the bending
element, it will product a
voltage that is used for
monitoring. Bending
elements are used in an
array of applications
including micro positioning,
optical switching, valves,
and medical devises.
ITT offers engineered
designs to compliment new
product designs and special
applications. Please
view the ITT Bending Element
data sheet for your design
concepts.
Bending elements are also
known as mono-morphs and
bi-morphs.

Stacked actuators are the
answer for precision high
force micro movement.
ITT is the industry leader
for robust designs and
reliable product that will
provide service for many
years. Stacked
actuators are capable of
forces beyond 6,000 Newton's
and displacement values to
120 micro meters.
Achievable positioning
capability is measured in
the Pico Meter scale.
Industries using stacked
actuators include down-hole
oil well tooling, rotor
craft stabilization,
interferometric measuring
systems, atomic force
microscope positioning,
Non-destructive testing (NDT),
and integrated circuit
cutting equipment.
ITT offers engineered
designs for the most robust
and demanding service
applications.
Stacked Actuators are also
known as actuators, layered
stacks, and ceramic
actuators.

Piezoelectric Micro
actuators
provide solid state motion
and sensing on a very small
scale at low cost.
This makes them ideal for
micro positioning and
acoustic and impact sensors.
Low profile tubes are ideal
for dense channel packaging
where 50 nanometer/volt
channel positioning accuracy
is required.

Sensors are used for
detection of vibration,
sonar threats, mechanical
motion, and audible tones.
ITT has provided solutions
for sensing requirements for
over 50 years. Sensors
using piezo electric
technology offer wide
ranging and robust
applications for the most
demanding needs and
applications. Areas of
use are fuel or fluid
presence, vibration, fluid
and air acoustics, pressure,
high and low force shock
events.
Types of sensors using piezo
electric ceramic may be as
simple as a monolithic block
to fully engineered arrays
capable of use on the ocean
floor.
Sensors are also known as
hydrophones, accelerometers,
and multi-axis sensors.

Piezo motors are small
modular devises that provide
high precision positioning.
ITT provides micro
positioning for linear and
rotational applications.
Motors achieve forces to 1.1
Newton's per motor and
displacements beyond 300
millimeters. Typical
uses are micro machining,
optical aperture movement,
pick and place, medical
devises, and micro stage
movement.
ITT offers engineered
designs to compliment new
product design and special
applications. Please
view the ITT Piezo Motor
booklet for your design
concepts.
Piezo motors are also known
as linear motors, fractions
motors, stepping motors,
inchworm, and servo piezo
motor.
